Volunteering

LVA was founded on the principle of active parental involvement.

In creating volunteer opportunities, LVA recognizes that all parents'/guardians' interests, talents, and availability are different. The sources of volunteer opportunites are teacher requests, special events, school activities and clubs, regularly scheduled meetings, field trips, fundraising programs, PTO, classroom or lunch support, and so much more. Operating a school is a joint effort. There is room for you at LVA. We strive to make available appealing, diverse opportunities. If you have a special interest, please let us know about it! Community members, grandparents, and relatives are also welcome.

Please remember that working with students requires appropriate clearances. This is LVA policy and Pennsylvania state law. A criminal record clearance, fingerprinting and a child abuse clearance are all required. Links to the clearance websites appear below. The criminal clearance can be obtained on-line at a cost of $10.00. The FBI Fingerprint Clearance requires online registration and a visit to a fingerprint scanning center.  The cost of the clearance is $36.00.  The child abuse clearance form must be downloaded, completed, and submitted via regular mail with a $10.00 money order.
